When you work stranded colorwork, it's important to catch the non-working yarn when you have long stretches of the other color. This is the way that I catch my floats.

You say the main color is the fuschia even though it appears the main color is blue. It would be more helpful to say how to catch the right hand and the left hand yarn instead of main and contrasting yarn.
