Eh, the memories! My babysitter, an old Russian woman of 70, would sing this to me as a lullaby. I always felt so warm and safe with that song, although I knew not a word of what she sang. That would come decades later, much to my amusement. Red Kremlin stars; LOL! Good thing my parents didn't know!

My American parents would leave a careful list of healthy things for me to eat. She'd agree, then when they were gone, she'd make blini with berries and sour cream!
