Flocking simulation I wrote in Java using LWJGL for hardware acceleration. Part of a set of Algorithms I studied for Miami University's HIVE (Huge Interactive Virtual Environment.)
The lighting effect is accomplished by setting vertex edge colors of transparent squares rendered over the entire scene.
Excuse the poor frame rate, its the fault of the video recording software. I need something better.
You could use Fraps for recording.
