A West Liberty-Salem runner helps carry a struggling Arlington runner who collapsed just short of the finish line at the DIII 3200 meter race at the OHSAA state track meet at Jesse Owens Stadium in Columbus on June 2, 2012. The West Liberty-Salem athlete finished first in the 1600 meter race earlier in the day. She was running in last place in the 3200 meter race when she approached her opponent struggling to pick herself up from the track on the home stretch. Without hesitation, she scooped her competitor up and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. As the crowd roared, the incredible sportsmanship continued to the finish line...

your initial comment was arrogant. it seems as though your just trying to impress people well im sorry but the truth is that it is not easy for an average person to attempt to sprint 3.2km in a race in fact most people wont make the distance without walking part of the way and that is the truth so im sorry champ but it is arrogance if you come here and say that the only way what happened in the video is acceptable is if it is a marathon and if not its just "LOL" worthy get fucked you loser

    first: it's a little under 2 miles.

second: no one "sprints" anything over a 400m.

third: "competitive sports" means someone needs to lose. Not show mercy on someone who clearly didn't prepare right.

fourth: saying this is the right thing to do is like saying "I'm going to give you some of my money because I have a better paying job than you."
