the screen is designed with no backlighting and it is already dark, u need a light to read it in the dark . . .

It needs to be a dark screen. You can't read a book on a normal screen

It only uses battery power when you switch pages, and it can read 10,000 pages before the batteries run out. The screen looks just like a sheet of paper and you can read it just as well in bright daylight as you can in darkness. And the screen is much bigger than a PSP, besides, who buys a PSP for e-book capability? :P

Actually the screen is designed to be as easy on the eyes as reading paper, the side effect is that its slow to refresh. Its really very different technology than what you have trying to read from a PSP or a laptop etc and much closer to reading from a real book. They are very cool, my only problem is that I understand everything has to be converted to some dumb Sony proprietary format (not all readers are this way though).
