  • This type of "liberalism" has worked better than central planning and socialism. It has worked for most of the world where it is tried. Why not Chile??? And, who's version of history are we taking about? The version taught by a government paid teacher.

A GDP real growth rate of 5.3% (2010 est.) is not bad considering the worldwide economic slow down.

Search "Economic Freedom and a Better Life" on youtube for a good video response.

  • @lowertaxes123 what do you mean by 'worked'? At least in Chile, those statistics don't represent the quality of an average Chilean citizen. Distribution in Chile is probably the most unequal in Latin America. Rich people, which represent 20% of the population, live with high standards, but the rest of the people are left out in this model. So is that right? That's why we're fighting nowadays. Wwe don't want the government to give us money from other people. We want a better future, for everyone.

  • I think as an adult it is your right to decide if you want to go in debt, or not. But, I do not think you should have the right to steal from others for higher education, even if you use the government to do it for you.

"A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government."

  • @lowertaxes123 that's what liberalism is about. And that's something that in the last 30 years hasn't worked at all for most of the 80% of Chile's population. So, if you don't know about Chilean history, you should realise how harmful neoliberal laws have been to Chile.

  • @lowertaxes123 The fact that you can seriously try to preach that '"liberalism" has worked" to a bunch of Chileans is such a complete joke. Don't go telling someone not to fight for a better educational system just because the one you grew up in obviously didn't work.

Search "Anything About Chilean History" on youtube for a good video response.

  • "Education is a right of every human being. Chilean students should not have to pay for it."

Ok, then who? Who is going to fund your education? A blue-collar worker who has never been to college is to be taxed so you can enjoy your "right"? What about him? Does he not have a right to the same education as you? But how are you going to PAY for it? With OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY, OF COURSE!

  • Free education? go to a library. I worked 2 years and took out a student loan to pay for my education. Lazy socialist hippies. Sure, have the government pay every ones tuition. Ridiculous

  • @lowertaxes123 what version?, you gotta be kidding, this is not about partys, it's about a human right.

  • the sad truth is that the Chile middle class is growing. this group has a lot of time on the hands. they dont worry about the basics like shelter, food, and love. They dont worry about entertainment cuz they have TVS, clubs all over, and many youth activities. soooooooo they want more? and they thing education will make them millions??? the truth is Chile will just become a USA. lets face it no everone was born to be smart. in USA they actually try to shove eduation in your face.

  • Sorry, I said "THAT" and I wanted to say "THOSE" in my last comment.

  • Each comment about how neoliberalism is "so much better than socialism/comunism/blablablaism". I tell you: Come to Chile, come and see what are "poblaciones callampa", come and see the mansions that are in "La gran Vía" street, and dare to say those words again. THAT are the results of your "heavenly ideology".

  • From all the vids, the american is the one with more chat-fighting. I knew that beacause the North-americans are too narrow-minded and don't know shit about politics and global economy besides their owns! I'm not talking of ALL North-americans, but the majority part. ~ Arthur Chagas Rodrigues - BRASIL.

    Chile, estamos con ustedes! (y)

  • @lowertaxes123 So you think neo liberalism is the solution? Well, for over 30 years the governments have been applying this system and the fact that the gap between rich and poor people is widening every year: if you don't believe me move here and try to not only to live but ALSO SURVIVE with a "fair" salary of 160 USD or even lower because the money distribution here is way too unfair! Watch your environment and people around and you´ll realize that statistics are just numbers.

  • I'm sorry that one housebound idiot has found nothing better to do than comment on all your videos... I salute your effort in translating and transmitting these videos.

Even the most capitalist countries in the world (US, UK) previously invested an enormous sum in public higher education (sadly this sum is being reduced) because a well-educated workforce and managerial class is a social good, even from a narrow economic point of view. Something lowertaxes123 doesn't seem to understand.
