Citizens of the United States.

We are ANONYMOUS.

There is a new bill that the United States government has successfully passed. It is called the Stop Online Piracy Act, or (SOPA) for short. Also known as The Protect IP Act of 2011. The US Congressional Budget Office estimates that implementation of the bill would cost the federal government 47 million dollars through 2016. Translated into plain english, It will cost tax payers 47 million dollars over the next 4 years.
The SOPA act will censor you from accessing certain websites and block all access to other areas of the internet that the United States government does not want you to access.

The SOPA act essentually means, that even if you make a video of your child playing or singing and you have music playing in the background, or video on TV, you are breaking the law, and the government will order the websites that host your content to censor your content because of their new bill. Or if you visit websites that are on servers not in the United States you will be blocked so that you cannot access them.

Ask yourselves, Who really owns the internet?

The answer is simple: no one actually owns the Internet, and no single person, organization or government controls the Internet in its entirety. It is more of a concept than an actual tangible entity, and the Internet relies on a physical infrastructure that connects networks to other networks. There are many organizations, corporations, governments, schools, private citizens and service providers that all own pieces of the infrastructure that make up the internet, but there is no one entity that owns it all. How can the US government decide to block access to parts of the internet that the US government does not even own? The SOPA act is a direct violation to people's right to freedom of knowlege and information, And for that violation the United States government is a disgrace to the land of the free, The free that every United States soldier has fought or died for. The United States government is essentually telling the people of the United States that they are free to do as the government tells them. If people do not follow their rules they will arrest them for making an attempt to learn. But the government will tell the media that these people are getting arrested for acts of treason, domestic terrorism, or internet piracy.
As for the United States government. Who gave you the right to regulate the people's right to think outside the box and use the internet as they see fit? If we cut off global internet, shouldn't we also cut off all foreign affairs? Should we hinder globalization completely? Perhaps all other World Trade Centers are acts of terrorism by existing, as they use the Internet for commerce. The ambiguity of this bill should terrify you.

This video likely will not last long on Youtube. As long as you can, download Youtube Downloader, and help us share this message.

If you speak, they have to listen. If they do not listen, Their blatant disregard for the people will not go un-noticed, and is not acceptible. Doing nothing is the worst thing you can do.

We are anonymous.

We do not forgive.
We do not forget.
Expect us!

  • Check the vid I did on the same day. That one I spoke for myself.

  • That one statement sums up this organization perfectly. "This video will likely not last very long" um....yeah because this was clearly taken down by our fascist government, right? I love how the guy that posted this takes credit for the bill not being passed when really anon wouldn't get off their lazy asses long enough to do anything about it. It was mostly video game journalists sites that raised awareness and organized the resistance to the bill, but go ahead and take credit.

  • @videosfromderelix do you know why this specific one wasn't? It was a copy. A copy of a copy and there are many many copies. This was done so the message wouldn't get lost. This vid was out before most of the journals and articles. Check the date.

And finally, I did not take any credit. I did not do this at all.

  • SOPA and PIPA wasn't passed. just fyi

  • @elicious12321 Check the date. We are all aware of the successes of the campaign.

  • @Teddy3inDC Right except that still makes no sense. I just proves you jumped the gun and were wrong before anyone else. BTW it has nothing to do with "the government" you silly little hippies, it's the corporations pushing the bill through. The game industry that you useless little geeks worship were trying to push this shit through.

  • @videosfromderelix Interesting view. I am not a hippie, nor did I jump the gun. Just because I have a mind and disagree doesn't mean that I am silly little geek. You have no idea about me what-so-ever. You should watch my other vids. I agree it is the corporations and I am aware of the game industries involvement. I did not say that it was only one group, but many..........I only copied this vid for reproduction purposes.

  • @Teddy3inDC Yes a copy of a copy and those copies are all widely available. Huh, strange they were not taken down. It's as if the group has no idea what they are talking about.

I already pointed out that I didn't realize it was a copy at first. Still my point still stands in reference to the people that created it and those (like you) that blindly spread it while hiding behind the "I didn't make it, just spread it" defense.

  • @videosfromderelix *simply spread

  • @Teddy3inDC I never said it was because you disagree, it's because you spread false information for a group you know nothing about but blindly follow like another worthless fanatic marching off a cliff for their pathetic cult.

On that note, I do realize now that it wasn't your video but one simple spread by blind followers. Sorry for the hippy comment, that was untrue but you should speak for yourself and not let this useless group of morons speak for you.

  • @bilo30040 Enjoying the spread of disinformation? It's getting more and more obvious who are the real fascists here. Anon is the group that has been known to spread false information and silence those that speak against them, remember that people. Wouldn't be surprised if they were supporting this draconian bill behind the curtain, they have certainly benefited from the attention it raised.

  • @wolfur1 bullshit. You can buy that cyber terrorism BS if you want but I prefer to not let the fear mongering news networks do my thinking for me, as you have chosen to do.
