Alicia has been on peritoneal dialysis since January of 2010 and is glad that she is no longer scheduling everything around sitting in the hemodialysis chair. At first she was afraid because she is not a nurse, but she received training, and now does PD at her home. Alicia volunteers, does yard work, laundry and is glad that she made the switch to do dialysis at home. She asks "Don't feel sorry for me. Thank God I have a chance at life again."
