Bodhidharma is a Tamilian Pallava prince from Kanchipuram which is now a town in Tamil Nadu and he travelled to China during 5th Century.He started his journey from the harbour called Mamalapuram which is near Kanchipuram to reach China.Bodhidharma was the first monk to teach Zen Buddhism and also Martial arts in this world, which is a art belongs to Tamils.He was responsible to build Sholin temple in China
