I was a broker for 3 months before I had to leave due to the crash. I can tell you one thing. STAY IN SCHOOL. You may not necessarily need a college education to be a broker, but when you are competing for jobs, a degree looks better than a diploma. Also brokers at commission-based firms, can make as much as they want, but for your first year or two, expect to work 60+ a week, which is a lot and earn bare minimum wage, so if you want to work in NYC, make sure you have family or friends there.

its half true. there aint too many brokers out there these days. most corps want years on the resume with experience, and make sure they show what the hell they are doing with each market order.
