They were very Conservative times.

"The Good Old Days" as many like to call them..a time when the female gender , race relations and many other aspects of life were not tolerated..

Today, many Brits like Pat Condell, would love to see this time re-emerge.

Sometimes i forget just how right wing those times were.

Well I was there and all the violence came from the police. They baton charged us from behind, what a crude piece of propoganda this video is.

Got to love the narrator talking bout the violence of the demonstrators whilst we are plainly watching the police doing all the kicking.

@ParagramTree The commentator speaks of 'a bloody riot such as Britain has never before witnessed'. Yes I know there were riots in London pre-1968. For quite a 'recent' riot there was no riot gear or tear gas available at all. The ferocity of this riot was something quite new.

@dutchgoing Rubbish there have been serious riots in central London since as far back as 1780, look up the Gordon Riots, the chartist riots, the battle of Hyde Park, the unemployment demonstration riots of 1930s etc.

This is probably the first time in the history of the UK where people openly FOUGHT the police. Note the complete lack of riot gear etc, it had never happened before.....
