Transcript:
Today we are going to install the popular DI-NOC Sku CA-421. While becoming popular in the automotive world, this sku has its advantages in the architectural world as well. In this instance, we are applying to a refrigerator to be moved to a club basement setting.
First, make sure your refrigerator has a smooth surface, free of deep knicks or scratches. Clean with a light cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth.
Be sure to apply 3Ms Primer 94 to all edges, including any embossed pieces.
After priming, remove the liner from the DI-NOC, and align your 1st piece for installation.
When your DI-NOC piece is properly set, squeegee out all air bubbles from the center, outward.
Squeegee around any embossed pieces, such as the nameplate, tightening into the corners. Once tightened, cut and trim around the embossed piece, and pull away the DI-NOC.
Continue to squeegee all air bubbles out, in all corners. Then use your heat gun on all exposed edges to promote sealing.
Apply Primer to your next area of installation, and repeat as previously instructed, remembering to squeegee outward, tighten corners, and heat seal all edges. For an application such as this, you may choose to tuck the DI-NOC over the door edge, or buttress a small piece over top the edge. If you are butting pieces together, remember to pull your trim from your top layer.
After all areas are complete, enjoy the new look of your refrigerator. Its magentism is retained and you can decorate it with all the cool stuff you normally would use.
This is so cool, But why spend 100$ on vinyl and do a fridge?

@jettenjetta If it's an older fridge. Or maybe a recent move puts the fridge out of context with the new kitchen's interior design. Many reasons. We just wanted to show an unorthodox, but very reasonable and easy use / installation :)

did you use 94 primer before the di noc?
eyon17 8 months ago
@eyon17 yes, at 0:53 mark it's advised and displayed to use it on the edge and around any embossed pieces. This makes sure the DI-NOC does not bubble up, as the 94 Primer enhances the adhesive properties of the DI-NOC

Is it a matt or gloss finish?
TheLittleWorldofGaz 9 months ago
@TheLittleWorldofGaz This product is a matte finish, but 3M does make a product with a gloss finish under the Scotchprint series 1080.
