You're right, but so is Wilford Hall. At that time it was the premiere hospital in the Air Force. I believe that some of the POWs with injuries were sent on to Lackland/Wilford Hall but they wouldn't have landed at Lackland, no runway. More likely Kelly AFB, next door. Also, they would have most likely used a C-9 Nightingale to transport them there (DC9, civilian designation) and not a C-141A. BTW I was a POL troop stationed at Clark AB when all of this happened.
I thought Clark AB first, but nothing matches up- I was there. If memory serves, after the POWs were given physicals and a little rest at Clark, they were flown on to Travis. I'd Like to know wherre this footage was taken as well.
I was at Clark AB Philippines when the POWs flew out of Hanoi; I was a POL troop then. I had the honor of being one of the refuelers who serviced the first POW C141 to come in.
I was there for most of the arrivals an we were just in awe a the all the POWs coming down the plane in big smiles!! Howwondweful and pricless Freedom i!! Mi husband swrved as color guard for the navy and alwats ready ti come back at moments notice whay ever tine at any time!
