Killdeer Acting wounded

Me and my kids have ridden past this bird several times on our bike rides. It was only a couple of days earlier that I noticed her nest and eggs. She has picked about the worse location on the planet to make her nest. I am really surprised no one has smashed the eggs either on purpose or accident. I am afraid my wobbly kids will swerve off the sidewalk and run over the nest.

How about that! Great stuff. I was driving 4x4 in High Rock Canyon on Memorial Day weekend and ran across a mamma duck with three little ones. I stopped the truck and followed them up the creek, suddenly mamma duck took off and left the little ones behind. I found them hiding in the muddy water. Took pictures and left. Poor little things were terrified. Thanks for the vid, respect wildlife!
