We are students at Simon Fraser university, and we created this film for an assignment in IAT 101. The goal was to create a film in the style of a director. We chose Lasse Gjertson, and our film is a demonstration on how static shots and boring lighting can still create an interesting film when paired with good editing. The second half is much cooler than the first, so just wait.
How can anyone rag on them? They completed their assignment...

Funny u know about the Lasse Gjertson, 'cause this was EXACTLY what that was supposed to rip-off.
This project was to get an existing one and imitate their style. I guess they succeeded then, huh

They're not artists. How is copying another a filmmaker an art? IAT students will never be artists, just like communications students will never be film students (and some do.. oddly) even if they study the same medium. They will be designers at the most. If these students want to be artists, then go to the School of Contemporary Arts at SFU.

Dismalpubes, don't you think you're being a little harsh? You should NEVER tell an artist to give up on their dreams, no matter what you think of them. >:( Just because these guys don't live up to your extremely high standards doesn't mean they won't one day (with a little practice) go above and beyond everyone's expectations. Now how are they going to accomplish that if they give up now?
The rhythm was a bit off in part 1, but it was dead-on in part 2. Good job guys! :)

do you have any idea what the word homage means? given that its a compilation of different clips and the editing combines multiple elements, not a edit of one single video, I fail to see where you're coming from buddy
