Join Tasmania's two hopefuls as they take on the best Australia and New Zealand have to offer in the Tectaloy Drift Challenge in August last year.
Andrew running the only street registered car in the field, 1JZ powered S14 Silvia, driving it all the way from Tasmania to the event. Unfortunately for Andrew the Eastern Creek ripple strips proved to harsh snapping a driveshaft early on night 1 of the competition. However battling through the night and next day He managed to repair his ride for a few more demo runs on day 2.
lloyd Smith proved to be one of the early favourites getting up to speed with the track layout very quickly and qualifying in the 5 position after day 1. A huge achievement from the young 18 year old who designed and built the majority of the corolla with help from friends and family.
However Lames Abbott proved to strong in his 2JZ powered s15 knocking lloyd out in the first run of battles. lloyd finishing 11th place overall out of 34 drivers, a great achievement.
Both drivers etching their place on the Australia drift scene, look out for bigger and better things from these 2 in 2012.
