Well, when he was with SG it was about selling records(what every band has to do in the beginning) but when he went off on his own, he didn't care as much about album sales, but more of what the music meant to him, he went through some tough times= dark, indulgent music...Amazing voive though

Everytime I listen his voice I can't avoid this feeling of relief and love, no matter what his music is always a shelter from the storm. Thanks Darren! And thanks for sharing.

The Tension and The Spark was a dark record but TDTWM is definitely about reaching the light at the end of the tunnel.

Actually isa123454321, I don't think his music has become pessimistic. He has always written about dark times in his life, and still does, but a lot of his music is full of joy as well. Listen to the words of this song. The album this is from, This Delicate Thing We've Made, is a great mix of both light and dark.
I love it!
