http://www.13thstreetguitars.com - NAMM 2009 - Paul Reed Smith hosts Johnny Hiland, Gary and Greg Granger in the PRS mobile studio. The boys can play like no other, and the sound system was great. Unfortunately the bass doesn't come through well on my camera. Check out my site - 13thstreetguitars.com

  • Johnny needs to lose some weight for his health, but his playing don't need to lose anything! He flat out rocks!

  • Yeah, no kidding. I'd like him to stick around a while.

  • May be some less overdrive would be better to use there

  • He's a fantastic player, he's technique is so clean and no matter what style, he's playing is very inventive. The question on his health raised makes me think of shawn lane, not good for johnny.

  • Such a great player! Just saw him at the Dallas Guitar Festival. Seems to be able to rip in any style. Many melted faces in Texas.

  • Nice

  • Great

  • That was fucking awesome. PRS should have tried to retain him.

  • Awesome Guitar

  • A man's gotta' die of something. Now I understand you being concerned and all, but let the man live his life to the fullest. I'm sure Johnny would say the same to you. We should be happy to have the years we do have with him now, and stay out of the crystal ball...Johnny will live to be 110 hopefully, but if not, I feel lucky to have been inspired by him.

  • That's some mean chicken pickin'

  • This is something that concerns me as well. He is an absolutely incredible guitar player and an even more incredible guy. He just comes off as the nicest guy you'd ever wanna meet.

But to be brutally frank... he's morbidly obese. I don't say that to put him down. I love the guy. But this is about his health. People carrying that much weight just don't live very long. The odds he'll see 50--if he doesn't lose weight--are questionable. It's a real concern.
