"The unfortunate death of storm chaser Matt Hughes,30, has sent shocks throughout the entire storm chasing community Thursday as well as the Discovery Channel family.

Hughes ran the ""Dog House"" vehicle, that accompanied the Tornado Intercept Vehicle.

Matt Hughes reportedly died after an injury sustained following a failed suicide attempt, and had nothing to do with a storm.

According to an inside source, Hughes' motive was triggered by issues at home."

  • My son was in that deep, deep hole---He tried to kill himself and did not succeed, with family help and docters help he got out of the hole and is now living a clear life. He was 17 when he attempted and now , a year and a half later , he is happy--he talks--and has a great job with going to college!! Alls I can say is if you know someone like this,TALK, TALK , TALK!!! Help them get out of that HOLE!!!

But now in 2000 century, people do it as flies Or?. It's hard to understand and is not Heroic or Cowardness that would be too easy to say! I believe there is four stages before suicide. 1.) Fantasy 2.) The planning 3.) Obsession 4.) Implementation R.I.P Matt Hughes

Its a chicken shit, spineless, greedy thing to do. I've been down about as far as a person can fall and in those times the idea of suicide barely even entered my mind for a second...to follow through with it is gutless

  • This thread should pls calm down. Its a sad loss of talented young man. Another one and I would like to offer my respects.

  • @polybun first off you have NO CLUE what pain living with depression really is!!!! He was in a hole so deep he wasn't able to find a way out of it without ending his life. Yes he does own some of the responsibility for not telling someone what was happening and letting it get that far. BUT I believe both his team and the discovery channel also own some blame. There were so many people around him not just Sean. When depression gets to the point of wanting to die there are CLEAR signs that the pe
