No he sold out way before the Eagles concert. He was quite big in the south and in Cincinnati. He sold out 5 shows in Cincinnati Ohio in 1979. Not saying the Eagles did not help, (as check the bass player in this video!) The best version of this song by far!

@holycow1972 Jimmy got his big break opening for the Eagles on the Hotel California tour, show was in Miami marine stadium, stage is an island and it was 1984 or 85 memory fuzzy, but I was there on a tube floating in the water. Great show!!!!!
