  • Like Daggerman points out below, T&F to the rest of the world is Athletics, definitely not a diss. He's just saying it's apples and oranges. It's crazy though comparing their bodies, one is built to run and the other is truly built to swim, kind of freaky because they represent the extremes.

  • Bolt isn't saying swimming isn't a sport. In most English-speaking countries not the US, Track and Field is referred to as "Athletics." As such, its participants are referred to as "athletes." It wasn't a diss.

  • For Jim Rome, it's all about the smack: "All right, Bolt and Phelps, you fight-- I'll hold your coats!" Jim is a punk and always was. UB may have been dissing Phelps, probably wasn't, professional to professional, class and all that. In any event the easiest take on UB's comment is that he was saying "apples to oranges." Rome knows that, even if he doesn't know that someone from a Commonwealth nation says "athletics" instead of "track." Rome just wants to be snarky. Where R U Jim Everett?

  • @twitch047 I'd say wrestling and boxing are way harder

  • im not a professional in either. But doesnt swimming require great upper and lower body strength. and running only requires lower.

  • people that say winning gold in the olympics for swimming in any event are fucking retarded. each stroke is like an enitre different sport all together, i'd know because i've swam at an international level for australia. Also, look at the different body types for the best swimmers of each stroke, they are so different requiring different muscle groups to move in different ways. Swimming would have to be the second hardest sport there is after gymnastics in terms of workloads and training.

  • Jim Rome is such a pussy

  • @upabittoolate It takes you one month to respond and all you can come up with is that comment? PATHETIC. My arguments are logical, it's you that needs to learn how to argue. Go get some professional help, seriously.

  • @Mankkays You REALLY can't frame a real argument. Can you?

  • Swimming and wrestling are the two toughest sports. If you think otherwise, your just trying to defend your sport.
