The Phenomenon Mystery

On October 30, 2007, during an interview about the reality show Phenomenon, Criss Angel said "No one has the ability, that I'm aware of, to do anything supernatural, psychic, talk to the dead. If somebody goes on that show and claims to have supernatural psychic ability, I'm going to bust them live and on tv."

On the Halloween, October 31, 2007 live episode of Phenomenon, "paranormalist" Jim Callahan performed an automatic writing act, allegedly contacting dead author Raymond Hill in order to identify an object that Raven Symone had placed inside of a locked case.

Following the routine, an argument broke out when Criss Angel reviewed Callahan's performance. Angel called the act "comical," and challenged Callahan and co-judge Uri Geller to tell him what was inside of an envelope he removed from his pocket in exchange for one million dollars of his personal money.

This led to a loud verbal dispute between Callahan and Angel, during which Callahan went towards Angel and called him an "ideological bigot" while Angel got up and went at Callahan. They were separated as the show went to a hasty commercial break.

On the following week's show, Angel revealed the contents of one of the two envelopes, prior to which he challenged Geller one more time. Geller responded, "Although we were born one day apart - I was born on the 20th of December and you on the 19th - a lot of years between us - 40 years, you were one year old when I came out with my spoon bending..." Criss Angel then abruptly cut him off at that point, saying, "I guess that's a 'no,'" and proceeded to open the envelope.

The envelope contained an index card with the numbers "911" printed on it for September 11, 2001. Criss' explanation was this: "If on 9-10 somebody could have predicted that 9-11 was going to happen, they could have saved thousands of lives".

Some Geller supporters pointed out that Geller did mention the numbers one and 19 and count it as a success since he did get the digits right. Geller in fact mentioned five numbers; containing eight digits in his speech (1 20 19 40 1) as well as the month of December.

The other envelope's contents was scheduled to be revealed on the first episode of Season 4 of Criss Angel: Mindfreak. However, the contents of the other envelope were never revealed and remain a mystery to this day.

The real question is.. why?

Plain and simple! Was he scared or was he in cahoots with Jim Callahan for ratings $? Something stinks about that whole thing!

Jimbo was just a paid actor. Now the real question that troubles me is whether or not Jimbo was "acting" like a douchebag on YouTube or if he's a 100% douchebag in real life? This is the real mystery! lol

Anyways, I just might go and ask J.C. if his douchebaggary is part of the act or if its real. I will keep you updated. ;)

@Homey1717 I challenged Jim Callahan on why he still picks on Angel for stupid things but never takes advantage of this obvious flaw! He ignored me! Maybe he was in on it with Criss all along to further both their careers, but something clearly never panned out and it was abandoned. Probably because Callahan was voted off the show instead of staying to act as a foil to Criss in an on-going battle as Criss predicted. It's beginning to look like that confrontation was staged after all.

What I want to know is why the contents of Angel's 2nd envelope were never revealed? And why has Jim Callahan never brought attention to this fact? I smell a set-up!

dude if uri really knew that he was answering criss's question and not indeed trying to make a point that he had been doing magic way longer than criss had, then why wouldnt he have said something? why would he just go on and on about him being more experienced than Criss? its just a coincidence that they were born on those days and he started talking about it. if uri knew, he would have came right out and said 911. its that simple
