Fetal Reduction

Fetal resuction is a procedure done in case of multifetal pregnancy three or more fetuses. The procedure is done at 11 weeks of pregnancy. After cleansing the mothers abdomen with antiseptic, a long, thin needle is inserted into the mothers uterus guided by ultrasound and injection is directly given to the selected fetus which immediatle stops its heart activity. Live twin fetuses are left inside. The procedure is without any pain or bleeding .

i can never judge someone for doing this- when you get pregnant with 3 or more babies everyone is at risk, many of these babies are born too early and die, It would protect the surving ones- i wouldnt want to risk all of their lives, or leave them without a mother, its still a very hard choice

@MrsMelissaNewcomb thanks so much for clearifying it for me but i was crushed seeing this its like killing the baby that looks healthy and have a healthy heart beat why not let god take the baby on his own. i thing that was murder being that the baby is alive.sorry i nearly cried watching this.

@mickeyforu26 If this mother has 4,5,6,7 fetuses then they are not healty babies, and that is not healthy for the mother.Or perhaps there was a severe problem with the fetus and it had no chance.This video disgusts me too, it's heart wrenching and horrific.

it's not so bad if its done in the early stages, but when you can see an actual BABY on the fuckin monitor i have a problem with that.

What gets me is that abortion as contraception is ok, but people comment about how horrible this is, when most of the people who have this done, are doing it out of love and have likely had a VERY long struggle to conceive in the first place. There is a lot of danger in carrying multiple fetus's, was also likely the most difficult decision they every had to make in their lives, and will live with that pain every day. I am relieved I was never faced with that choice, I can't imagine that pain.
