SIP VoIP iPhone skin for iPod Touch and more

I've made an iPhone-like skin for the iPod Touch software called SIP VoIP which lets you call (if you order a mic you can too, obviously) and also recieve calls.

You have to use a jailbreaked iPod Touch and if you want to rename SIP VoIP to Phone (like it's called on the iPhone) you need to have the "Customize" app installed.

The video speaks for itself but there are a few things I want to explain.

First of all. To login to your iPod you need to know your iPod's IP-address. Go to Settings, then Wi-Fi and click the arrow that is located to the right side of the network you're currently connected to.

By default,
Login name: root
Password: alpine
Port is 22 and you need to select SFTP instead of FTP

NOTE: If you want to use the name Phone for the icon you have to have SIP VoIP installed too (but you should hide SIP VoIP within the customize manual re-order thing.)

I made an option to use two different buttons as Hang up, you'll notice there's a file ending with 2.png, rename that if you want to use that button instead of the iPhone-like button that is being used by default.

IF YOU OWN A iPhone THEN YOU SHOULD ONLY USE THE SKIN. THE RENAMING THING IS ONLY FOR iPod Touch!

i used iphonebrowser to do it and it worked at first but when i tried to change the name it only freezes at the home screen

okay. it works for me still with the newest version too (1.2). you can't rename the file using the iPod. You have to do it from a computer I guess. I wouldn't recommend doing this on a windows computer since it's a bit more complicated. I hate windows so I'll talk about windows no more :)

have you used customize to hide sip-voip and make phone visible? if not. do that and if that doesn't work try to do the customize thing again and reboot. should work (as you can see in the video)

when u change the picture of the icon where did u get the pictures for it when you transfered. did u get them on google like a pic then made it a .png file?

My bad, i forgot to say thank you very much for this skin. Although i had to rename some files and add some from the original sip voip skin i got it working and it looks great. Looks much better tham the all blue touchmods skin (no offense to touchmods, the greatest SIP VOIP app in the world) Thanks again man.

I just did this on windows and its not that hard. However, your missing a few very crucial files--one being disconnect.png, tel delete, tel hangup (supposed to be all caps i think)

So what I did was just put the missing files from the original sip release (even though the buttons are blue) into the skins folder. It works good and looks kind of cool with light and dark blue buttons .

i can make calls to home phones but not to mobiles does anyone know whats wrong please? (i live in england) also i cant hear anything through the head phones
