A section of Devon's precious countryside was returned to its resplendent best this weekend 26th January 2008, when a group of volunteers cleared the site of discarded litter and refuse. Around a dozen members of the Central Devon Conservatives 'Community Action Team' collected stray cans, carriers and crisp packets when they carried out a litter clearing exercise in Okehampton, on Saturday. The team were asked by Okehampton district councillor, Christine Marsh, to help her carry out the litter pick on the River Ockment, which flows within the Central Devon market town.
