During the July 23, 2009, keynote "The Future of Autism" at the Autism Society's 40th National Conference on Autism Spectrum Disorders, each of five panelists gave a presentation before discussing questions. Dr. Stephen Shore, professor of special education at Adelphi University, discusses the future of autism from the perspective of a self-advocate.
I saw Dr Stephen Shore speak two years ago. I was quite impressed. He gave great insight on how to cope with my two boys and their autism.

Every word, every feeling, every experience, including the "refrigerator mother" was mine. My kid looked like an egg too Stephen. Thanx!
All I can say is stim, flap and love the moon. You are my hero - okay next to only a handful of others who also possess "the gift"
It is simply a different way of :looking"
God bless you for "seeing".
Love and hugs; and a big tiny moon

EVERYONE should see this presentation by Dr. Stephen Shore. Wonderful!
I am glad that at least one person in the panel recognized that there are other effective interventions aside from ABA.
