Short vid of our new bird. It's hand raised but took some time to get used to its new surroundings. With some "step up" training and close contact in / around the cage she's starting to get comfortable.

  • I recommend getting any bird from a certified breeder - pet shops are nasty places for pets. I was lucky to adopt my cockatiel from the RSPCA, he is hand raised and loves singing!

Always check your local shelter, you will be amazed at the wonderful and intelligent pets they have.

  • are his wind clipped??

  • @erfmufn

you don't pick, your pet you pet picks you .

you'll find most of the time when you have been picked that they think about you none stop and the every sec you leave the room they are in the cry out ( don't leave me here alone) ,my mum got this pet bird that fell in love with me from the sec she got home with it ,now the bird will not give me a moment to do anything away from it ( and i am talking about my cockatiel ) not gf

  • my cockatiel could the same ad the first week i had it.

  • actually its a birds instincts. my bird does all of those things

  • theyre not really tricks. my bird takes my earings out and chucks them away and unbuckles my necklace..

  • I know all about training a bird, too!

I got one 4 years ago at 15 1/2 years.

Sam was so scared of me at first.

I stick trained him. On Thanksgiving Day 2005, he stepped off the stick, onto my hand!!
