Ya Rabbana Irhamlana - Imran Din

I have chosen Ya Rabbana Irhamlana to be the first Nasheed/Hamd-o-Naat featured on the site. The meaning of "Ya Rabbana Irhamlana" is "Oh our lord have mercy on us." I have chosen this Nasheed firstly because it is a Hamd (in praise of Allah SWT) and it is better to start with a Hamd rather then a Naat (In praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW). Another reason is that this was the Nasheed that basically "Started" it for me. The Nasheed was also the second Nasheed I preformed live. The Nasheed was orginally written by Hadhrat Shaikh Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (RahmatAllahi Alaih) as "Ya Sayyedi Irhamlana". The version is still actively recited by many recitors such as Muhammad Owais Raza Qadri (Barakaatuhum). It was changed to "Ya Rabbana Irhamlana" by recitors of the Deobandi sect, namely Hafiz Abu Bakr. This is the version I have chosen.
