This was good for non-beginners too-- it always helps to make sure you're getting the right tone.

This was a great lesson that even experienced players can benefit from. Thanks for the great lesson and the reminders!

thanks..i love this video
Jason...been wondering for years exactly what technique produces "the Butterfield tone" in his acoustic work. We've all heard it, as on "One More Heartache", but I've never come close to mimicking his tone. Do you have any insight?

I think aside from being Butter, he held his harp upside down, and the big thing was his throat vibrato, which is produced by inhaling and making a light coughing sound kinda like a monkey. I'm not very good at that Vibrato. Rob Paprozzi rocks it pretty hard.

so you get a lot of the harmonica in your mouth and lip pursing is how you get that great tone. is it just time that youre able to single note??? I cant seem to get the pursing down I can only single note it when I use U blocking. I'm very very new. about 2 weeks. I would love to see a video of nothing but arbachure

You can get great tone U blocking!and YES it's just time to get single notes pursing. I do sort of have a video on ebrochure called tounge blocking by a lip purser or something...check my channel it's there...i can't u block really...norton buffalo and many other greats were U blockers so don't fret!
