Pan's labyrinth = the best movie of the decade in my opinion.

Del Toro, excellent storyteller and cinematic visionary. PL, a beautiful dark fantasy with a strong narrative and amazing cinematography, film of 06. Kermode, the UK's premier movie reviewer. Nuff said!

you got it there so much deep inside GDT mind, he was reading things i haven't even heard of, at age 11 and been from high middle class he had the chage to wach tons of films and even buy flims and experiment with them at a very early age, been able to put everything toghether and fight for the pure love of make movies is what i consider greath talent.

3:27 Mark Kermode looks like he's in love...

@ytertyu according to anime fans EVERYTHING is stolen from them... I don't even like anime, so I'll just stick with Pan's Labyrinth
-
I don't think so.......GDT is inspired more by gothic horror of HP Lovecraft and early American weird fiction, which also inspires Japanese Anime-they just use the same source material.Goya and Hr Gieger are also visual reference points as well as Southern European folk tales in terms of story writing.
Really, people should know their movie history before writing such comments..........

Del Toro's comedy is very macabre and i think that is in all he does, he has a very wry sense of humour and his creatures are beautiful. The evil ones are so interesting and the good ones are truly amazing.
The corpse in Hellboy is just plain damn weird.

Guillermo Del Toro is much better than Orson Welles.

@reservoirdog666 I would have agreed with that until I saw There Will Be Blood andThe Hurt Locker. Now I'm confused, both in my top 5 of all time though!
