We are here on Rüschenhof dairy in Uthlede. This farm belongs to the Claus Luerssen family.

Very large cow populations are typical for the Cuxhaven region. We have here the highest dairy cow population in Germany.

We currently farm 618 acres with 10 employees. Our average milk yield at the moment is 33 kg per cow per day, with on average 10600 kg of milk sold per year.

Our most important requirements for this project have been work productivity, cow comfort and profit maximization.

BouMatic has been involved in this project from the beginning, and after very intensive cooperation I want to show you this project now.

We are here in the 650 cow freestall barn. The cows are housed in 4 groups. This barn provides plenty of light, air and optimal bedding comfort and therefore is an optimal environment for the cows.

We are here in the repro barn. It has a capacity of 150 cows. Here are special-needs areas for sick cows, treated cows and for the first few days after calving.

We have installed a 50-stall Xcalibur 360EX rotary from BouMatic. We currently milk 700 cows with a throughput of 300 cows per hour.

This average can be even higher throughout the world with proper animal and resource management on a dairy operation. This European operation (Luerssen's in Germany) milks 700 cows at a rate of 300 per hour in a rotary parlor.
