Seated along the causeway in Cape Canaveral FL in the Congressional Guests area we watched the NASA space shuttle Atlantis liftoff on the first scheduled attempt with only one slight delay at T-minus 00:00:31 (a finicky camera). 3 minutes later the clock started up again and, well here it is... one cannot truly appreciate the awe, majesty or sheer power in these things save those who have witnessed it in person. In 13 days the shuttle and it's crew is scheduled to return to Earth, the last in of an era.
