Rex Harrison and Richard Burton. Queer and Loathing in the West End. Two middle aged hairdressers, living together for 20 years, love to hate each other...or do they hate to love each other? Harrison and Burton are brillant and have some of the funniest dialogue ever. This is the gay equivalent of Who's Afriad of Virginia Woolf? and I disagree with critics that lambasted it. This film goes from pathos to bathos and back in a blink of an eye. Directed by Stanley Donen from the play by Charles Dyer. "Well rub-a-dub and God Bless us all and Oscar Wilde!"
