  • I've had this new guide for months and I still hate it.

  • My Channel guide is NOT centered. And Verizon reps don't have a clue. Does anyone know how to adjust the aspect ratio of the guide? (NOT THE TV PICTURE). My guide seems to be stretched on a 55" plasma display.

  • YOU CANT BE THIS STUPID!

there is no way anybody could have thought it was better to have smaller harder to read text on a lighter background.

no way you could think the highlighted channel needed to be split in two.

no way you could remove "set reminder" from the first option slot.

no way you could think there needed to be 4 versions of the guide.

no way you could make all cells identical regardless of when a program started.

no way you could make the corner screen that small.

  • why would you make it so that "set reminder" is the third option when selecting a future program? why would i tune in now when im looking at a show thats on in three hours? its like this is the earler version of the guide, and the one we used to have was actually the one that fixed the problems with this one. fuck you verizon. youre shady. theres no reason to do this so you must be gaining something by this inconvenience to your customers. its a simple fact - you must stand to gain something.

  • why would you have an extra info cell for the highlighted channel on the guide? thats what the info button is for. thats why you initially made it so the info button doesnt cancel out the guide. theres no reason to have two cells for one channel. just put the info on the highlighted channel if thats your goal.

i mean, this is so beyond stupid im having trouble describing what you people did here. you must be making some kind of profit from this because you simply cant be this stupid.

  • this new guide is the reason im looking for a different provider. i recommend you all do the same.

  • the new channel guide is by far the worst decision ive ever seen a company make.

the text is too small, the colors are chosen poorly for something meant to be read with human eyes, they added an objectively unnecessary and distracting channel info cell, there is no visible distinction between programs that have already started(all cells are rounded at the beginning when the old ones were squared to show that the program had already started) they added pointless vod channels scattered around.

  • IT IS TERRIBLE. CANNOT READ TOO DARM SMALL CHANGE IT FAST

  • WTF! this new guide SUCKS!!! smaller text?!?!?! wtf are these people thinking?!?!?

  • @hubblecraft83 why on earth would you defend this? they make all of their customers go out to the store the exchange their boxes so they can stick us with an update that offers us nothing over the old one except headaches?

this screams gawker reskin to me "we know you hate it but it makes us more money"

  • This is so awful, almost unusable

  • @Vlad788 Dont worry it just came out to day and it sucks.

  • OMFG This guide fucking sucks so fucking much, everyone in my house hates it! Even my good friend hates it. This is too small, the in guide tv is wayyy to small. I cant even use this thing. You have to be on the channel to see whats on, everything looks like a bubble. I just sucks. I want the old guide back. Fuckin we pay so much money for this bull shit? I dont think so. Change it back. Im sure everyone agrees. Even in HD it sucks. Hell the ONLY thing that came good was the animation :L FIX IT!

  • The new guide is absolutely terrible. It's smaller, less intuitive and the color scheme was chosen VERY POORLY. I don't know who is responsible for this but it was a very bad decision and it needs to be changed back IMMEDIATELY. I am already shopping for a new provider.

  • unfortunately, there is no way to get the old guide back. i work tech support for verizon FiOS... lots of complaints, but no way to switch back.

  • Just got this update.

  • Been nearly a year and still haven't recieved it, false marketing and advertising, haha.

  • when is this coming out

  • I hate it. Lettering is too small and the colors don't help. How can I get the old guide view back??? gc

  • just rolled out in Virginia...it is absolutely horrible. The next New Coke or Qwikster screw up in the making. The new guide is not bigger...it is smaller.

Give us the option to use the old guide view....I went through the menu and chose classic view, and it did NOTHING.

  • Everyone should have this update by Halloween or early November by the latest :)

MD/DC/VA is the biggest market so VZ uses the rest of the country as a beta test before rolling out updates to the DC area market. We get it last but with the least bugs.

  • For the people that complain without doing research. You need a 7000 series fios box (QIP7232 DVR for example) which has a better processor, 4 times the DRAM and better graphics processing. This will make 1.9 run smooth and give you a full 16x9 guide. Your six year old box will not take total advantage of this update. Go to a Verizon office with your old box and they will swap for free to one of the new black boxes. You can also get on a waiting list online but it will cost $40.
