The ruf is great great car for sure...but TheF40 is awesome car and  LM one is the damn beast of the road!!!

My POV: the Ferrari wasn't full throttle

At least the ruf "could" overtake him (for me no ), but nver so easly that's fucking impossible

Do you think a Ferrari 333SP could pull a F40LM? Are they both GT class cars or is the 333SP a prototype?

The F40 LM is already a prototype but the 333 SP is a full race car..

333 SP ~650HP for 850 Kg

F40 LM ~750HP for 1040 Kg

For a 1000m the F40 could be faster but it should be close.

On the other hand for a lap track i think the 333 SP is widely in front .....with the same driver in both cars.... That's very important for a good comparison :=)

I agree. Although I have only run against one true F40 LM, I have run with five different 333SPs, so I have a better feel for the SP's performance. I love the F40s and surprisingly fast, but I found the SP's to be more formidable.

The CTR2 Sport is a true beast, no doubt about it, the 993 basis is very well balanced on track (despite you must learn how it works) BUT and there is not doubt about this:

this is not a F40 LM and the driver is not giving the full gas, because, if yes, believe me, you would hear it! and the F40 has lot of torque: 580Nm, even if the CTR2 has more! The only big problem with the F40 is braking, as the turbo has no discharge and a big lag, you need to declutch! total waste of energy!

The RUF CTR2sport has 780Nm (575 ft lbs), and more importantly, it's torque curve is virtually linear through the entire working RPM range. I recall that this F40LM relied on one big turbo, so it just could not compete coming out of corners against RUF's small twin turbos that are designed to spool up very quickly. Matched to RUFs linear torque curve (that is strong low in the RPM band) and coupled with short gears and 4 feet of rubber the RUF is very quick out of the corners.

Not belittling RUF in any way, they are awesome cars and the CTR2 is a quick beast but no way in hell would it beat an F40 LM around a track. Just wouldn't happen. My guess is the driver of the F40 LM wasn't attempting to race the RUF.

I am a die hard Porsche guy and own a 2200lb/700hp 993 GT2 Evo replica (built on a 930 chassis) so I know how fast they can be . That said, something is off with that F40LM. The Ruf is an awesome car, but the power to weight ratio of a F40LM is far better. Maybe the F40LM was running at low boost because there is no way the Ruf should be able to pull past one like that.

Don't believe it. Sorry, but there is no way you would pass an LM like that if it was being pushed. I don't care if you are a porsche or ferrari fan. I like both but an LM has 700+ hp and LIGHT. You passed it like it was a Geo.

Oh please, 99% of the f-40 Lm drivers cannot or will not drive their car anywhere near it's full potential.Don't get me wrong, Ruf doesn't play around when it comes to their super cars.  Simply put, you beat the driver!
