I lost the weight by using a combination of calorie counting, portion control, and exercise. My start weight was 242. I don't have a picture of my self at that weight. The picture in the vid of me in the dress at the beach was when I was weighing 230. I am currently weighing 192. I keep track of my calories at the following website:

  • this is pretty good information.. but you really dont need to count cal's.. because it may have a small amount of calories but that doesn't make it good for you. getting fibre, low sugars, low sodium, and a decent amount of protein are MUCH more important. In fact healthier food often has more calories, because they're good for you. Once you know what "is healthy" (ex. whole wheat pasta vs regular pasta) you don't need to look at the calories. but anyways congrats :D you're looking great (:

  • @HockeyDiane Im not extremely strict on calorie counting. I am more on portion control. The calorie counting is more to keep me from eating too little calories. Im not trying to put my body in starvation mode from eating too little calories. Some days I don't even count calories. And I do all those things you said about low sodium, high fiber, low sugar and high protein. But for me calorie counting works well. Plus making healthier food choices. I will further discuss in another video.

  • This really works. We're doing the exact same thing except I use the iPhone Lose It app instead of Fitness Pal. And you look GREAT! I'm 10lbs away from losing 50lbs as of TODAY!!

  • @kwietgyrl Go girl. Congrats. I know it works so good. Wish I would have known all you had to do was count cals and eat less a long time ago. I would not have stuggled so long. Girl I thought you had to have some type of pill, special machine, or diet food. lol.

  • @HockeyDiane I disagree. Because no matter how much fiber, protein , or any other nutrient you get, if you go over your daily required calories then you wont lose weight. Say in order for you to drop 1 pond a week you need to eat 1800 calories, if you eat 2500 a day , you wont lose any weight at all. No matter the fiber, or grains. :) But I do agree with picking the more healthier choices you named.
