i wacthed a robin defedning it's nest chasing a greckle around and then the greckle smoked the neigbours window. am guess they where fighting or chasing one another.

I walked outside my house this morning and noticed a bird in the driveway on its side and noticed that the guts were missing and had a hole in the body, I live in the city so I know it wasnt shot.

I find dead birds around my house after they run into the windows... Sometimes it just stuns them.

do u have a cat or dog? i have a dog that likes to bring home dead animals for me all the time. thats obviously what happend. either that or a wild animal was caught them and u scared him off wile u were pulling up!

Not to cheat on a comment, but before reading the "smacking on window" my initial thought was they may have been chasing each other while flying. Fending off one's terroritory or nest and then collide with the side of your home. I've seen small birds chasing larger ones all the time. Even had them fly into windows obviiously not seeing the window.

A little after we found a dog on the street and took it in, it hunted a down a bird and brought it up to our porch!

It worked hard to get the bird!

It must have been happy we loved her :D
