Etrian Odyssey II - Chimaera - Lvl 16

Hello, this is my first boss fight for Etrian Odyssey II. I took no time at all to grind before the boss and I also had no idea of what skills would be the most appropriated for him. I just did with what I had and it wasn't so bad since I got it on my first recording try.

I've also decided to take an almost completly new team compared to the first game. I realised I still needed the survivalist so it's the only returning character so far. But in the end I think it should be a pretty balanced team. Well I hope.

By the way for those who never played this game, there is a second screen that I didn't record that shows the map of the current floor. You also see some more powerful enemies moving on it such as the slaveimps you see at the end. They stand there but once you start the fight, they slowly start moving toward you at each turn until they get in. There were actually 6 of them I think so it was best for me to kill the boss fast since they use a move to heal it along with one that increases it attack power.

More videos will come soon, when I'll get further in the game. But the progress will probably be slow since I don't have much time to play this game. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy this one for now.

@PoonLife hypercam2 all the way! with ffdshow encoder but I prefer camstudio's lossless encoder if you can handle it. Btw if you get the later, I use adobe premiere pro to compress it, because the file will be 50gb+

I'm probably being really silly here, but how do you have so many items available at Sitoth Trading?

@Smilefires try to find every possible drops from monsters and every materials from the mine/take/chop spots. Each floor has 3 different items for each spot and most of the items are unlocked from them.

@djrelllik Well, I think Flandre works for a Hexer too. I originally named mine Remilia, but when I realized I could change it to Satori I did. Both characters fit the part.

(Actually, all my characters have Touhou names ^^; I'm terrible at name-making.)

and my party consists of 2 ronins, 1 DH, 1 alchemist and 1 medic... I just beat him in one turn with my alchemist's Eschaton.. i just use it and it released first, and suddenly the chimaera is already dead hahaha. I know that Alchemists was useless in EO2 for their high tp cost, but I beat all of the boss with Eschaton and a skill from Ronin. DH's dominate was awesome too because it made all the boss can't use their skill :D

I watch this video after I watch your how-to-beat Primevil from EO1 :D and I was kinda inspired from that, although my party is nowhere near yours... I never understand how to use a survivalist, so I opted for Dark hunter instead, because Bait is one of the best skill ever :D anyway, when I beat this chimaera (on my first attempt too) I was on the 5th floor since level 16 and go leveling for 1 level (17) before I beat it (in attempt to full the force point too)

@rpstudiosproduction ...and my medic had about 10 TP left, but I won with these combos. Turn 1-gunner force-Riot gun=200 damage. then Alchemist force-I forgot the spell name=1000+ damage!!! then next turn, protector force-painless, and Landskhenet force-all out=200 damage=win battle. I wonder how I will defeat the next stratum...

I was playing Etrian Odyssey 2 until the 5th floor, I still played it and I read some reviews saying that Hexer is extremely good for the Chimaera because of poison, so I tried to defeat the Chimaera with a Level 17 party:Protector,Landskhenet(sp­elling error???), Medic with revive, gunner, and Alchemist. I tried using poison gas, failed and I failed with about 7.5 % of Chimeara's HP left. Then, I tried again, this time, I used force, except my Landskhenet was dead before the fight...
