http://POTUS31.com I just had to make a parody of the incredible Keepon! Hideki Kozima's research on behavior and autistic kids is amazing. His understanding of play is what inspired me most. A robot with no appendages dances joyfully and interacts with children. The robot doesn't seem capable of passing judgment. It also has the ability to make eye contact -- a standard of human communication.
Pair that with Marek Michalowski's amazing programming and you've got a living creature! Michalowski programs the Keepon as artistically as a choreographer would direct a human dancer, but with more consistent results.
My "robot," on the other hand, has only one purpose: entertainment. It's a marshmallow and needs to be eaten either before or after you ignite it. I make food sculptures, and the Peep just seemed like a good fit. It's a small limbless yellow bird that needed a reason to dance. Enjoy!

The Keepon is an institutional tool for autistic diagnosis. You wouldn't buy a Keepon for your home any more than you would buy your own MRI. Its effectiveness comes from appearing like a toy to the patient. My Peepon is not a Keepon. Imagine building a life-size cardboard MRI and you've got the idea.

@cmanleyspy it has two cameras and a microphone to observe the child while not expressing disappointment, surprise, or any other judgmental emotions to dissuade the child from being comfortable just being themselves. With this observational information, a doctor can better advise a course of action to take. Look up Keepon on wikipedia.
