I'm ashamed to be french when I read those comments in french and full of errors.

@masonictubePlease, don't be angry. I'm french, I admire and love Jeremy Brett greatly, and yet I do appreciate this video. In fact, it doesn't express any exasperation , it's only a friendly and affectionate little teasing. Jeremy, professional as always, pronounces pretty well the french sentence, but, of course, he has a british accent. This is unavoidable and I dare say quite charming.

PLbrettfan, oh, and i understand as well that you did not want to criticize the actor - just to draw attention to the point which naturally seems funny to native speakers of French :))

I can assume that Mr. Brett could say this French phrase correctly if this was his intention :-) BUT, playing Sherlock Holmes, the British of the end of 19 century, he could make mistakes specially, couldn't he? i mean Brett speaks French here just the way Holmes could pronounce Flaubert's statement, maybe to show off in front of Watson, you see ;-)))))))
oh and i agree entirely with candybabychocola, it is VERY sexy when englishmen speak French xD xD

If we are to criticize Jeremy Brett's French maybe we should start by criticizing the author of this video who is supposed to know French but expresses his exasperation by writing Aller !, instead of Allez !
(Polybe)

@masonictube Do you know the meaning of the word "humour"? There is no criticism here! I made it in jest and really don't understand why you're so angry with it. I'm a FAN of JB; how could I did it with a bad intent?
