2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Fernieboy, First of all, if you call yourself a Christian you had better not talk to your elders in the faith in such an inappropriate manner. Second, you should reread the comments that I have made again and pray about them...check the verses in your Bible (KJV) and then, if you have a question, state it like a Christian should. It is all very clear to me. If you want to send me an email you will not be limited to short comments and this may help convey better understanding. Thank you.
@offline111 I don't see what straw man you are talking about and I don't see the smokescreen. The gospel is simple - why make it confusing ? and if you can't handle a simple discussion about doctrine then don't bother preaching it. The word of God is the final authority - all we have to do is compare the word of God with what people say and it either agrees with them or exposes them. I am not dodging nothing or avoiding the conversation why are you being like this - whats your deal ??
Fernieboy, you are not handling the Word honestly and this is where I quit talking to people. The point I have made is very clear and has nothing to do with your repenting and being saved, by the Book, at all. You know that and are trying to erect a "strawman argument". A smokescreen. If you don' t want to see this clearly....then don't. I have made an attempt to admonish you with the Word and you have no ear for it. That is FINE by me. No problem. However, I will not waste anymore time with you
@offline111 So your saying that I am wrong to repent of my old ways and wrong to be born again and live a new life that is no longer in bondage to sin ? Jesus clearly said unless you repent - you will all likewise perish - how can you misunderstand that ? he also said unless a man be born again he will not see the kingdom of God. It's pretty simple and straight forward - how can you call that a false teaching ? You say I should repent of what Jesus,John the baptist, Peter, Paul taught ?
This is why you dodged my direct question the first time. You have thrown the Bible out that you may keep your own private interpretation (spelled error.) You need to read the scriptures I posted to you above and watch my videos on Mat.25, Eph.5, 2 Pet.1-2, Gal.5, Heb.10 and 6. It is good that you understand that God requires holiness, without which no man shall see God. However, you have embraced the teachings of your false teachers and this must be repented of. 2 Pet.1:8-11.
@offline11 It says if we sin willfully after we recieve the truth there is no more sacrifice for sins. I see millions of people that think they are saved but they have not repented of their sins and they have not been born again, yet somehow they think they are headed for heaven " through grace" or " through the finished work of Christ" but he did not die to give people a license to sin. The bible repeats that born again people do not live in sin and darkness. If they do they aren't saved.
(cont.) Heb 10: 9 ..... He taketh away the first (the Law), that he may establish the second (grace.) 10 By the which will WE ARE sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever THEM THAT ARE SANCTIFIED. ..16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
The context proves this book is written to born-again Christian people, who believe in Jesus Christ as their sole Mediator, have Jesus Christ as their "High Priest", and have been sanctified by His grace (having "tasted of the heavenly gift", and "partaken of the Holy Ghost, etc. Heb 6:4-6) In other words, the "we" in Heb.10:26 refers to Christian people in the most definite fashion. Therefore, "For if WE sin willfully..." proves Christians may fall back to "perdition." Do you agree with this?
@offline111 Well since grace is such a mis represented word these days - lets just read the verse and see what it says, Hebrews 10:26 - For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking of judgement and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. There is a huge false teaching out there that says we can live in sin and still go to heaven - but that is totally contrary to scripture

Hebrews 6 and 10 speak (as does 2 Peter 2) of believers that have fallen from grace. You do realize that, right?
