Editing attachments
To edit your attachment, Right-click on your attachment, and select Edit. You can click the Less/More button to see less or more options. Click Texture to change options. You can modify color, prim type, and features. To reposition the attachment, click-and-drag the attachment until you are satisfied with the location. Have fun editing your attachments!

btw, "there is no risk involved", unless the person is editing the only copy of the thing they have access to (there are probably tons of exceptions, but many of the people that need to learn stuff like how to edit attachments don't backup often enough)
