Dalton Mountain Gang performs "Sally Ann". Yoseff Tucker - lead vocal and guitar Ella Naiman - fiddle John Cogdill - mandolin Tom Naiman - banjo Paul Chesterton - bass
Recorded January 17, 2009 at the Clovis Winter Bluegrass Festival.
alot of people play and express themselves through different sub-genres of bluegrass music. this is one among many. descent work. from johnson mt boys to yonder mountain. its all grass.
i liked teh mandolin solo; and the banjo solo for that matter. Variation of the melody is what a great break is made of...and i love a good chromatic run.....
Great job folks! Great little band. I do have one thing I'd mention and that is I wish the mandolin and banjo players would have kept a little bit of the melody in their breaks. Esp the mandolin - -running some G-scales can't even come close to the great melody of this old tune.
Texans love the Dalton Mountain Gang's music, too!
