you were born in '93?
so what right do u have to talk like this about pearl jam. they were a part of the hype just like nirvana, alice in chains or soundgarden. all of them different bands with a different style. there is no 'grunge' music - it all differs. grunge is what the industry called it to sell fu*king records...

well, cobain and vedder were never Enemies, or friends. they were...aquantances. but uh, they did have a brawl backstage on new years i think. but theyre both good singers, i just like pearl jam more. and nirvana had more hype than pearl jam at the begginig

Smells like teen spirit and the release of Nevermind started the hype - there surely was real Grunge Music before in Seattle - from the early 80ies on, but if we're talking bout this whole hype thing we have to accept that it was based on those four bands incl. nirvana.

Pearl Jam is above Nirvana, definitely, Pearl Jam (using another band name) were there before and never enjoyed Nirvana success !
Nirvana has nothing to do with the grunge scene and were probably more "commercial" (I hate that word but Kurt used it) than Pearl Jam !
Anyway, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam Rule and Dave Grohl is a genius !
