On Sunday, February 25, 1996, the Space Shuttle Columbia deployed an experimental tether into orbit. The experiment was called the Tethered Satellite System (TSS- 1R) and it's purpose of this was to attempt to generate electricity by utilizing Earth's magnetic field.

Unfortunately the tether broke so the experiment was not a success, although approximately five hours of data were recorded.

What really made "The Tether Incident" famous was the appearance of many unidentified flying objects (UFOs) clearly visible in the NASA footage. Conspiracy theorists rejected NASA's explanation of space debris and ice particles...

  • Ice particles not make circles and curves in the space, this is impossible if you know a little bit about phisic

  • @jvpmoin I do know how to spell physics and these particles seem to be going in a straight line. The tether is actually only as thick as your thumb but 12 miles long.

There is heaps of light flare which makes it look very wide which explains the apparent size of all the debris floating around. The blinking UFOs could be just uneven shapes spinning around.

  • @jvpmoin Hi, if you knew a little bit about optics, you wouldn't talk about those objects making curves etc since you CAN'T say that because this is 2D video footage, you don't see it in 3D... and especially you don't have here any points of reference (black background only). The Shuttle is in constent motion, and the debris (IMO of course) too.

  • @VanDammesCokeDealer You've convinced me, rofl... Im sure Nasa never lies, just like Gov's, right? Explain how floating ice near ther spacecraft can be floating BEHIND the teather which is 90 nautical miles away.... Better yet, just don't answer cause I have no hope for people like you. :)

  • Debunked

  • @jvpmoin the camera used is a circular curved mirror. Objects that are seemingly moving in circles are likely also an optical illusion picked up by the camera.

  • LOL, yeah a fleet of alien spacecraft are just up there zoomin around at coincidentally the exact same time a NASA experiment fails and breaks. It couldn't possibly be NASA's explanation; I mean, what the fuck do they know about space?!?! LOL!

  • I think to many people need to explain away the obvious! Have you ever heard of occums razor? So whats more prevalent, space debris that looks like disc's blinking objects and curving objects even some that stop? Or that these are really crafts or vessals of life, that we are simply to primitive to understand, but like i said many need to have some explanation and are willing to grip anything they can esp. with sts 75, Good Luck. I find it hilarious.

  • @sebastiansz wrong again genious there are refrences, there called stars did you bother to notice any star systems???????????????????????????

  • @YouFatTuber bs they have a promenent curve did you even watch the sts 75 video?

  • @oooAndyooo you sound like a caveman lol stop looking for answers, face we are alone!

  • Stop being a fucking caveman, what do you think, that we are alone here?

The Universe is 14 billion years old, our planet 4.6 billion, there is 9.4 billion years in between.

Maybe life started not so long after the ( big bang), that would mean they are maybe 9 billion years ahead of us.
