A third excerpt from the feature-documentary 'Generation RX,' in which Peter and Jeanette Blagbrough discuss the tragic outcome of their son Christopher's Prozac prescription.

Visit http://GenerationRXFilm.com for full info.

The film discusses a pattern of collusion between drug manufacturers and their regulatory watchdogs at the FDA - of evidence hidden from the general public, despite the risks being well-known long before antidepressant drugs were approved for the marketplace.

  • These stories never cease to surprise me. It is so important for people to know the risks involved with these drugs.

  • It's a very distressing story, nothing surprises me anymore though, there is a lot of ignorance amongst supposed experts and care givers, I am a registered nurse myself and self educated in many health modalities, I see the mayhem all around me, western medicine, drug companies etc have a lot to answer for, so many deaths, but it doesn't get answered does it, it just gets repeated over and over again.

  • It is not just known and taking drugs responsible that is the problem but also the ages in which they are giving the drugs out just cause a kid seems hyper or depressed does not mean that they will never grow past it or get less hyper. i know many and am one myself that grew out of such symptoms as kids without any anti depressants. i guess what I'm saying is give people and kids a chance to grow before you give them such powerful drugs.

  • Crazy people, not crazy drugs. Do drugs responsibally, find out the facts, you'll be alright. Just have to be smart.

  • I've never heard of anyone smoking two joints and going out and stabbing their family, yet that's still illegal. Ridiculous.

  • lol sorry for the repeated comment I guess it was a computer glitch.

  • the only thing we do not know is was it really the drug? What was going on his head before he started taking Prozac? The psychiatrist must have had a reason to prescribe the med, and not all pills are cognitive alternating they are more as mood altering. some depress your mood such as, ritalin some give you energy such as, caffeine.

  • i admit anti deppresants can kill but they can also help .try seeing if a guy with ocd or major depression or anxiety can fix the problem by themself and then give them a anti deppresant and watch them turn around and start living again .yes these drugs can kill but they can also save many lifes

  • 1st: Why he doubled the dose?

2nd: Antidepressives should be taken along with psychoterapy (the real mental work to get well). Antidepressives are just a little push to decrease its physical symptoms.

3rd: For all antidepressants one of the possible side effect is the increase of suicidal thoughts. All drugs can have as side effect the opposite of what that drug does. For example, a drug used for lowering blood pressure can increased it as side effect.
