Excessive December snowfall, snow melt and heavy rain in January causes rivers and streams in Western Washington to overfall. So many roads are closed due to flooding that drivers can't get out of the state. Over 40,000 people have been urged to evacuate their homes. The two main rivers causing problems are the Cowlitz River (south of Seattle) and the Stillaguamish River (north of Seattle). This video was shot during the floods of the Stillaguamish river with water levels at 20 feet and surrounding homes and lowlands flooded.
