A 3 minutes tour of the largest island in the world. From the time of arrival to the time of departure.
Filmed in Southern Greenland (2003-2006).
Please check out greenland.com for more on the "coolest place on earth".

Filmed in a highly compressed 16fps codec so the image may suffer from time to time.

  • How warm does it get there in the summer? Are there flights to Greenland from Canada or the USA? Are there any decent motels? Thank you!

  • @cosybully In southern Greenland, where this was filmed, the climate would be very much like arctic Canada or Alaska - that means cold, with temperatures hardly never getting into the 70s (f). Most international flights are out of Europe (Denmark) but there are flights from Canada too (Iqaluit in Nunavut) though not as frequent. There's not a single motel in the country (no highways/roads between towns - boats and flights only).

  • can you buy cannabis in greenland if so for how much are where do hoou go and what is the punishment for getting caught, thanks

  • @mcpartridgeboy Hahaaa, that's a first! I don't think there's a country where you can't get a hold of some form of illegal drug. Drugs are not so widespread in Greenland - the island being as isolated as it is. I have no clue about what punishment you get but I'm sure it partly depends on the amount you have on you when caught.

  • WOW! I thought Greenland is only ice! where are the penguins and polar bears??

  • @kittykatro Penguins live on the souther hemisphere. The polars bears didn't come out the day I brought my camera. Sorry. Wish they had though!

(they are not so common where these pictures were shot, chances are there wasn't any around for about 1,000km or so)

  • i've always been somewhat fascinated with greenland...it's such a massive body of land, yet so few people seem to visit...is much of it uninhabitable? is there a main city...what is the nightlife like....what do most people do for a living? are there colleges there? what languages are spoken? are there any black people there? sorry for all the questions, just curious

  • @MurphGiovanni Greenland is covered by the second largest ice sheet in the world, so yea much of it is uninhabitable (80% in fact). The official language is Greenlandic (an Inuit dialect) but the country is mostly bilingual (Danish). There are a few collages, one university with a limited number of subjects, so young people have to go abroad for an education. 99% of the people in Greenland are Inuit and/or Danish. The night life is, as most other places, OK - it's no London or NYC 'course. :-)
