Phillip Mills, the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004 and a global exporter of fitness programs to 73 countries (where they are licensed to nearly 11,000 gyms), has spent the last year forming his views on health and fitness and sustainability into an engaging and challenging book, Fighting Globesity. People worldwide should read it. As Phillip jokes, "What would a couple of gym bunnies know about climate change and sustainability?" As it turns out, rather a lot.

  • Great message, inspirational information, and well-written. I enjoyed reading the book.

  • @muppetblues They aren't a world leader, that is just marketing. Sure they are wide spread because they result in gyms having to pay less for instructors. Doesn't mean they are any good, any gym commited to freestyle aerobics easily beats les mills. Trust me a push myself as hard as the program allows, often ignoring the program to get an even harder workout, for example using hand weights in body combat. Still easy thou, too many rests within tracks.

  • @jvisch Les Mill isn't for everyone, but to say that it doesn't get people fit is entirely insane. Les Mills isn't a world leader in fitness programs because they make people fat, unfit and keep them uninspired. Clearly they are hitting the mark, Perhaps you might actually try pushing yourself to the limit in class, e.g heavier weights in body pump, more resistance with higher revolutions in an rpm class, take all of the high impact options in a body attack class add another step etc..

  • you guys rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jvish ... you increase the options, millions and millions of people know and do that every week, so stop the WUM

  • Inspiring... I didnt buy the book, and i already know how to put my little share to change the world.

Les mills changed my life. :-D

  • I have to agree with jvisch... I find some of their programs too easy.

  • Why is it awesome?

  • Yeah right. How exactly? They are fixed programs

  • The book is awesome. The concept is pertinent. The populace is sleeping. This should be a required text in public education.
