always nice to hear, these little things deserve to be loved. sip-scootershop has a great range of stuff for ape's, at reasonable prices. get yourself a 103cc one, so you don't have to change the crank. make yourself a nice exaust, it's cheap but well worth the effort. i just make one out of 5 euro worth of plate, 10 euro welding consumables and some scrap. just get the calculations right. you should be able to reach 60kph for about 300 euro.

if a stock ape 50 is going 30mph, it's going down a hill. there not restricted, the engine and gearbox are made for moving loads and endurance (alltough they break down alot if you have a bad one), not speed. stock they go about 40kph. a good, calculated exaust can do a lot, but if you want to go fast, go bigbore and change the primary gearing. parts for a smallframe vespa (pk50) usually fit, but be carefull, they are not made for torque.
